Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing its base stats or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, whereas items with strong bases like eth titans do not vary in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus, or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot, thrown away by enemies or received as rewards from missions or chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they are upgraded.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. If an item fails to attain its maximum level the NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take between one and two hours and will cost the same amount of material. However, it has a lower success rate.

Engineers will utilize a level to measure the height of the building with an established point, like an existing benchmark. This method is known as a "level loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are built to a high standard of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can significantly improve an item's strength and damage as well as other attributes. This can be done via the item upgrades menu or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be performed in the rarest of circumstances.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you could get the stats that mattered most to your build more often than other items. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns, and diminished duration due to control or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each statistic. This could be good or bad, depending on what you're looking to get from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to regular affixes. The more you improve an item, the greater chances of obtaining an exclusive bonus.

The game also has a number sets that grant a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an unit. This is an excellent way to add a lot of power to a particular character without spending an excessive amount of money.
