Mountain Buggy Duet will be an ideal choice if you enjoy off-road driving. It's a side-byside model with the slimmest footprint of any double buggy available on the market. It's easier to maneuver through narrow doors on public transport, and to climb over and over kerbs. The adjustable handlebar has an additional handbrake for safety and security.

The UPPAbaby vista 2 double is another lightweight option that can be used by twins or a baby and toddler. The seats come with multi-position recline and UPF 50+ sunshades and the canopy can be adjusted to keep the sun from your child's eyes. The Vista 2 can even be transformed into a triple with the addition of UPPAbaby's 'PiggyBack board for older and mobile children.

The iCandy Orange double buggies are one of the most popular available. This is due to their outstanding comfort. It's an all-terrain model with soft suspension that can easily handle bumpy surfaces. It can accommodate a massive 30 seating configurations and comes with an integrated ride-on board that can be used for older children who prefer walking and a 'cinema seating' mode that raises the back of the seat to improve visibility.

Alternatively, the phil&teds dot is a great single buggy that is available from day one that can then easily adapt to take 2 (or 3!) different configurations. This is especially useful if you have an infant in a car seat since the frame can be equipped with a wedgie to allow for optimal lying flat, or car seat adapters to a wider range of brands.

Suspension

The suspension of a double 3-wheel buggy will determine how easily you and your child/children can push it. It is essential to have a smooth ride because babies can feel every bump that comes along the road. This is particularly the case if you're driving on rough terrain such as grass or roads that are not paved. Certain models also have locking front wheels to assist in maneuvering and navigating obstacles such as curbs.

Certain models come with air-filled tyres that are ideal for all-terrain riding, however they are prone to punctures. Make sure you have a spare set of tyres inside the trunk. Certain models come with foam or gel-filled tyres that are designed to cushion bumps. They are less likely to puncture, but they may be uncomfortable for your child should you choose to jog.
