WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also added to each upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade items your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the Item level upgrade (forum.spaceexploration.org.Cy), however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new gear. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool using a button, which displays an item's preview at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current item level. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

For instance, once an item reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to get their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them properly. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
